Dr. Fletcher is a health psychologist specializing in treating children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, mood, and adjustment challenges related to acute and chronic medical conditions or other health-related conditions.

Dr. Fletcher takes a tailored, skills-based approach to help individuals and families learn strategies to improve functioning and well-being. Her approach is integrative and evidence-based, pulling from cognitive, behavioral and acceptance, and mindfulness-based modalities. 

Dr. Fletcher specializes in treating patients with conditions that include: chronic pain conditions including headaches and gastrointestinal disorders, concussions, epilepsy, functional neurological disorders (FND)/non-epileptic seizures (NES), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS); Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), diabetes, sleep disorders, along with many other acute and chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Fletcher works with individuals living with medical/health conditions to optimize physical, behavioral, emotional and social well-being and treat co-occurring stress, anxiety, mood, and behavioral concerns and disorders. Dr. Fletcher tailors scientific backed treatments to provide individualized care to her patients.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Dr. Fletcher received her M.A. from American University and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She completed an APA-Accredited internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship at the pediatric pain rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient clinics. Dr. Fletcher further expanded hertraining at Children’s National Hospital in the Divisions of Endocrinology & Diabetes and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Fletcher continues to hold a faculty appointment in the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at Children’s National and specializes in the treatment of headache conditions, concussions, and functional neurological conditions.
